Applied research projects involve research activities across a wide range of sectors including Aviation, Animation, Applied Health and Life Sciences, and Information and Communications Technology.

Many of these projects are funded by federal and provincial agencies including the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the Ontario Centres of Excellence (OCE) as well as contributions from industry and community partners.
